COURSE OVERVIEW

This course covers the principles and operations of conventional lathe machine tools with an emphasis on the set-up and operation of lathe. Topics will include safety, turning, drilling, boring, threading and cutting tools setups as applied in industry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Perform lathe operation using conventional lathe machines.
  • Identify required work and tool holding devices, select, mount, set-up and adjust appropriate accessories, attachments, and work pieces in preparation for performing lathe machine operations such as facing, turning, boring, threading etc.
  • Perform machine and work holding device alignment.
