Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C)

Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C)

COURSE OVERVIEW

Statistics from the Department of Statistics show that more than 79% of occupational accidents in the country occur in small and medium-sized industries. This is due to a lack of awareness about Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in these sectors and the absence of strict legislative provisions.

As a response, the Ministry of Human Resources, through the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), has amended the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994. One key amendment requires every company or agency with more than 5 employees to appoint an OSH Coordinator to assist the employer in OSH matters.
